About Ella
Beginnings
I grew up in Beijing and read mathematics at Beijing Information Science and Technology University. It's where I first fell in love with the discipline of a clean proof — and the quantitative instinct that still shapes how I think.
Across the Pacific
I crossed the Pacific for an MSc in Computer Science in Washington. Pairing maths with engineering gave me the second half of my toolkit — an instinct for systems, and for how software actually gets built.
Pre-MBA
I joined Siemens Advanta as an engagement manager, working between Beijing and Washington DC. I spent those years advising private equity firms and corporates on complex cross-border M&A — and learned that capital is most useful when paired with deep technological literacy.
2023
I completed my MBA at Cambridge Judge — chosen for its dynamic fusion of finance, business and science. Along the way I joined the Algorithmic Trading Society, represented Cambridge at the Royal Society's Global M&A Challenge, and contributed to a WHO project on AI in healthcare economics. Cambridge became the launchpad for everything that followed.
Today
I lead X-Launch from Hong Kong — a global alternative investment platform serving UHNW families, institutions, and sovereign entities across eight financial centres. It's the operationalised version of everything the previous chapters were building toward.
